Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan today gave birth to a girl in a hospital in suburban Andheri here.

She was admitted to the Seven Hills Hospital on Monday night.

“IT’S A GIRL!!!!!! :—))))),” husband Abhishek Bachchan wrote on social networking site twitter. The baby is the couple’s first child.

“I AM DADA to the cutest baby girl!! Dadaji...ecstatic!!!!,” actor Amitabh Bachchan said on twitter.

The senior Bachchan had yesterday tweeted, “A day of expectation....but another day! The lord has his ways and they are most special....we wait!!”

It was in June this year that Amitabh Bachchan had broken the news about his daughter-in-law’s pregnancy.

Hospital sources said the delivery was normal and came a few minutes before 10 am. The Bachchan and Rai families were present for the momentous occasion.

Aishwarya, 38, developed labour pains around 4 am and was taken to the labour room where the delivery took place after nearly six hours.

“Chaalbaaz was the best movie & Sridevi’s mind boggling performance in it. The versatility she achieved by playing a double role & how she played the contrasting characteristics so beautifully adding the subtlest nuances to define the character. She was hilarious, moving, intense, verything all in one film.”

She went on to telling us how she remembered practicing the dialogues in front of her mirror at night and how she was so excited to watch the movie over and over again, you could suddenly see those memories come back, her eyes sparkled and we got the feeling that she was just urging to rush home and put on the film.

So would Shraddha do a remake of the classic? Would we see her in a dual role anytime soon?
